Greg Hertrich joined Nomura in 2010 as Head of the U.S. Depository Strategies Group from Deutsche Bank, where he was Head of U.S. Bank Strategies. Previously Greg ran the bank group at Merrill Lynch and was a senior bank strategist with Lehman Brothers after an extended tenure at First Union.
Full BioGreg Hertrich joined Nomura in 2010 as Head of the U.S. Depository Strategies Group from Deutsche Bank, where he was Head of U.S. Bank Strategies. Previously Greg ran the bank group at Merrill Lynch and was a senior bank strategist with Lehman Brothers after an extended tenure at First Union. He is currently responsible for spearheading Nomura’s strategic work with U.S. domiciled institutions in both the bank and insurance sectors across the balance sheet and income statement. Greg serves as a strategic advisor on behalf of major stakeholders, including management teams, boards, institutional investors and regulators on risk management and corporate strategies, specifically focused in the areas of regulations and the capital markets. He serves on SHA’s Significant Risk Transfer Steering Committee. Greg has extensive experience collaborating with teams across markets and banking divisions to devise innovative tactical solutions for depositories in the post-Dodd Frank era. These initiatives include credit risk mitigation and capital relief, mortgage financing, and structuring solutions. Greg has been extensively quoted in the national press on issues related to U.S. market and risk dynamics. He is a frequent public speaker, including a series with global central bank managers, U.S. policy makers, as well as U.S. foreign regulators.
