Global Head of Communications
April Kabahar is Global Head of Communications for S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI). April leads a team of experienced communicators in the Americas, EMEA and APAC. She is a chief spokeswoman for S&P DJI and oversees the implementation of the division’s global external and internal communications strategy.
April joined S&P Global in 2012 and previously managed external communications and media relations for the company’s credit ratings division in the Americas until her move to S&P DJI in 2019. At S&P Global Ratings, she provided strategic counsel to senior executives, economists and analysts, elevating the company’s reputation and advancing its thought leadership globally.
Prior to joining S&P Global, April was an Associate at Brunswick Group in New York, a leading global advisory firm specializing in cross-border M&A, corporate reputation and issues management. At Brunswick, she managed critical projects for financial services, corporate and institutional clients, developed and executed media relations programs for the C-suite, and advised clients on issues management and corporate reputation matters. Previously, April was a Director of Research for Fitch Ratings, where she led editorial, content development and market outreach initiatives for one of the company’s business units.
April earned a Bachelor of Arts in mass communications from the University of the Philippines. A former financial journalist, she covered the asset management industry and the credit and structured finance markets for Institutional Investor News.
