The United Kingdom (UK) is one of those and has begun the process of making it mandatory for organisations to report on their climate-related risk in line with the recommendations of the global Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).

Alan Fitzpatrick is Head of ESG Solutions for the UK and Ireland at S&P Global Sustainable1, a group within S&P Global that brings together ESG and Climate benchmarking, analytics, evaluations, and indices. With over 12 years of experience within the financial services industry, Alan partners with investors in the development and execution of ESG/Responsible Investment policies and strategies that focus on a more sustainable and inclusive form of capitalism.
Prior to joining S&P Global, Alan worked as a Senior Responsible Investment Product Specialist for BMO Global Asset Management (BMO GAM) where he was responsible for overseeing the global delivery and commercial growth of its stewardship business. Before BMO GAM, Alan spent several years at Federated Hermes working with institutional investors in various client development roles. Alan holds a MSc in Management with Business Strategy and the Environment from Birkbeck, University of London, and earned a BA in Marketing. Alan is also a qualified financial and retirement planning advisor having been awarded professional Diplomas in Financial Advice and Retirement Planning.

Eva Cairns is the Head of Sustainability Insights and Climate Strategy within the Investments Vector Sustainability Group (‘IVSG’). She is responsible for leading abrdn’s Sustainability Insights team to establish abrdn’s views across our key sustainability themes, including abrdn’s climate strategy and approach to net zero.
Eva has published a number of climate related papers and articles including ‘Investing in a changing climate’, our Net Zero Directed Investing strategy and she co-authored abrdn’s thought leading climate scenario analysis white paper. She is also actively involved in climate industry initiatives to drive forward industry best practice.
Before joining the IVSG, Eva worked at Standard Life Investments and managed a team of Business Analysts, focused on projects related to the investment process, risk and research. Eva joined Standard Life Investments in 2010 from Halcrow Group Ltd (now CH2M Hill), a global engineering consultancy, where she worked as an Economist focused on environmental and socio-economic impact assessment of energy and transport projects.
Eva graduated with an MSc in Economics with Distinction from the University of Edinburgh where her dissertation focused on the social cost of carbon. She also obtained the Professional Risk Management (PRM) certification in 2014.

Saad Malik joined National Grid earlier this year as the Group ESG Reporting Lead, responsible for developing the Group’s ESG external reporting strategy for all stakeholders, from investors and lenders, to customers, employees, communities, charitable organisations and suppliers. This includes disclosures against notable reporting frameworks including GRI, SASB, the TCFD recommendations and the EU Taxonomy, as well as leading Green Financing reporting and disclosing National Grid’s performance against its own sustainability commitments. A key element of this is ensuring published information is credible and decision-useful, in order to avoid ‘greenwashing.’ He has also contributed to the Group's strategic stance on relevant regulatory issues.
Saad was previously a Senior Manager at PwC, with an accounting and finance background, before becoming one of the initial members of PwC’s ESG Risk and Reporting Advisory team in London, supporting clients across a variety of industries. He is also halfway through studying for a master’s degree in Economics and Policy of Energy and the Environment at UCL.
Saad is a qualified chartered accountant (ACA) through the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and a Certified Sustainability Professional designated by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).

Kirstie joined Diageo in 2020 having spent the previous 28 years leading sustainability programmes in the electronics sector. Her remit at Diageo is to create and lead transformational sustainability programmes which drive momentum and deliver on the Grain to Glass 2030 commitments – net zero carbon, water positivity, circular pack solutions. Kirstie is passionate about collaboration which builds scale and enjoys developing sustainability strategies which achieve real business results.
She has a engineering doctorate in environmental technology and has published widely on sustainability and supply chain issues.
