Tom Serzan has more than 30 year experience in analyzing the utility sector from several perspectives. He is a Principal Analyst for Regulatory Research, an offering of S&P Global Market Intelligence. He is responsible for overseeing the Financial Focus research product and in this capacity contributes analytical commentary and feedback for numerous research reports and newsletters. His area of expertise is the power and gas sectors of the energy industry. He has spoken at various industry conferences and has been a regular instructor at analyst training conferences. His industry expertise has made Mr. Serzan a frequently quoted analyst in numerous trade and national publications.
Mr. Serzan began his career in the early 1980’s as a staff accountant with the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities. In the late-1980’s, he became a member of the financial community and has held various positions as a research analyst from both sell-side and buy-side perspectives. He has worked for Gruntal & Company, Nesbitt Burns Securities, and Merrill Lynch. Mr. Serzan currently oversees Regulatory Research’s company coverage and financial studies research offerings. Mr. Serzan graduated from Seton Hall University with a B.S. in Accounting. He has held financial certifications including Series 7 and 63 authorizations.
