Rob Handfield is the Bank of America University Distinguished Professor of Supply Chain Management at North Carolina State University and director of the Supply Chain Resource Cooperative (http://scrc.ncsu.edu). He also serves as an adjunct professor with the Supply Chain Management Research Group at the Manchester Business School.

Handfield has consulted with over 25 Fortune 500 companies, including GlaxoSmithKline, Freightliner, Boston Scientific, Delphi, Chevron, British Petroleum, Nortel Networks, Chevron Phillips, Lyondell Chemical, Conoco Phillips, Federal Express, Milliken, and others. He has published more than 100 articles in top management journals including California Management Review, Sloan Management Review, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Journal of Operations Management, and Decision Sciences.

Dr. Handfield’s research with a number of leading SCM organizations across a variety of industries has identified that companies who excel in the consistent application of “best-in-class” supply management processes and practices, and becoming a customer of choice, have demonstrated significantly higher financial performance than their competitors. Mr. Linton has served as chief procurement officer of Agere Systems, Freescale Semiconductor and he most recently held the title of executive vice president and chief procurement officer at LG Electronics. Currently, Mr. Linton serves as vice- chair on the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Mobility, as well as member for the following organizations: UC San Diego Rady School of Management Advisory Board, MSU Executive Advisory Board, MIT Center of Transportation and Logistics Advisory Board, and Lutron Operations Advisory Council.

Mr. Linton is a graduate of the University of Vermont, and has been a guest lecturer at MIT, which is one of the 12 institutions of higher learning where he has served as a guest lecturer. Minimize
